The Power Of The Phrasing

Sometimes it’s all in how you phrase it.

If I were to ask you, Should private groups of people be required by the government to sign contracts, with anyone who asks them to, that are virtually guaranteed to lose them hundreds of thousands of dollars on each one? You’d probably say no if you had any sanity. At the same time, more likely than not you’d totally agree that “insurance companies shouldn’t be allowed to deny coverage to those with a pre-existing condition” – even though that’s exactly the same thing.

  1. You’re right – it would be insanity to require “the government to sign contracts, with anyone who asks them to, that are virtually guaranteed to lose them hundreds of thousands of dollars on each one?”

Where do you want people to die at – on the streets? When you go to bed at night and wake up in the morning nothing has changed – sick people who have existing conditions will still die! Don’t you see them everyday! It’ll be you when you’re 58! So why are you arguing against a government guaranteed safety net? Or do you expect this net to trickle down from those who make over 200k a year? Canada got it right – Japan got it cheap – What about us? I thought WE were smart?

What does that have to do with the issue I raised? If you are so worried about sick people with existing conditions, then advocate for a safety-net for them, or better yet, dig into your own verbally-generous pockets and offer up some charity for them.

What does that have to do with whether private groups of people should be forced to sign money-losing contracts?

So why are you arguing against a government guaranteed safety net?

It’s hilarious that you think that’s what I’m doing. You obviously didn’t read my post with any comprehension. Try again. Or is it that you can’t tell the difference between a government safety net and private insurance companies? Think again.

Where are you seeing all these sick American citizens in public? Do tell,

    thanks
