My Favorite Left-Wing Policy Idea
My favorite left-wing policy idea is that one which necessitates raising marginal tax rates on people who make more money than (or have larger trust funds than) the idea’s proponent, and using the anticipated revenues to fund jobs/roles for him and his college friends that involve regularly making key decisions about strangers’ lives.
That particular left-wing policy idea is AWESOME.

You know, I actually kinda miss the old left. Sure, their ideas led to millions of deaths (a sordid fact they still won’t acknowledge), but at least they were up front about wanting to “expropriate the expropriators”….
my favorite right wing idea is the one which involves declaring lots of people are “the enemy” and then waging war, dropping bombs on them until “victory”. I really like that idea!
then again, my favorite left-wing idea is the complex one which claims that
a: there are no enemies, only countries we didn’t make friends with yet and war never solved anything
b: various countries and people, particularly those we called “our friends” – and perhaps we ourselves – are “the enemy” (of mankind, decency and therefor of us) and violence is not only inevitable but deserved and it will overpower us/them eventually.
There r lots of cool ideas out there.
Hmm. My favorite right-wing policy idea is school vouchers. Go figure.
You get awarded the Evenhandedness-Bonus-Points of the thread though. Well done!
Hmm. An enemy is a friend you haven’t made yet? Well, you go right on ahead and hug that Muslim terrorist. I’ll stand over here
out of the way of any flesh splattersand watch the peace ‘n’ love commence. That particular “right wing” idea involving enemies and bombs? Yeah, that was coopted from the Left originally. If I remember my Vietnam War correctly, timeline-wise, it was Kennedy and Johnson who began this policy and Nixon who wound it down. In Korea, it was Truman, and Eisenhower wound it down.
The Left began as a concept of “demonize what you want to bring down”. This was Lenin’s credo, and it’s a Left wing concept. I HATE that the Right (the far right) has begun to use this as a means to an end. People who use it have minor victories, but their long term goals are never achieved because they bring themselves down.
Look at freaking Obama now – demonizing everyone who disagrees with him and claiming ONLY HE has “new ideas”. What a crock of crap. He’s so full of garbage with that talk, it’s almost laughable that people believe him. That is why his administration is beginning to fail – people are finally recognizing the lies. That is why Bush failed. His talking out of both sides of his mouth did him in. You can’t be a conservative and then “bail out” banks that don’t need bailing out – and have them use that money to pay off bonuses. It’s absurd!
Yet, oddly enough, the “New Left” has taken that absurdity to an even higher level – as has the “New Right”. It’s a war of attrition. It’s time for someone with credibility and sincerity to step in and fill the breech.
