Will someone please educate Joe Weisenthal as to what a default is?

I had had no idea that this apparent ringleader of the Coin movement and would-be business writer/blogger so totally didn’t know what he was talking about. From his roundup of today’s no-Coin decision:
With this, the White House has now ruled out the two best options for preventing a default in the event that the House GOP refused to life [sic] the debt ceiling.
Argh! Make it stop!
Maybe he really just doesn’t know what the hell he’s talking about. He needs to have a court-ordered prior-restraint injunction against his using the word ‘default’ in sentences until he googles it or talks to someone who actually knows what default means or something.
INTERNET, STOP REFERRING TO A DEBT-CEILING-INDUCED DISCRETIONARY-SPENDING CRUNCH AS A DEFAULT. I CAN NOT TAKE IT ANYMORE.
