To save costs we have to raise costs

According to Kevin Drum it’s actually totally normal and expected that health care plans are expected to cost $20k by 2015 under Obamacare and that just illustrates how much we needed Obamacare, because after all, $20k is a lot. Hence we needed Obamacare to bring costs down from shocking and intolerable levels like $20k, which (again) is simultaneously a perfectly reasonable guess as to how much health care will in fact end up costing under the Obamacare we are implementing in order to avoid costs being $20k. I think I’ve got that right.

Bottom line: High health care costs under Obamacare just prove the need for Obamacare. Presumably, if costs go even higher than projected, that will just prove the need for Obamacare all that much more. I can’t wait.

Wasn’t the argument for more stimulus a lot like that? “We’ve spent $x on stimulus but we don’t see any positive economic results, so that means the stimulus wasn’t big enouth & we have to spend more.”
Oh, and the QEs, as well: “QE 1, 2, …. haven’t done much except bubble up the stock market and certain other commodities, so that proves that we haven’t done enough QE and we have to do more.”
By George, I think we’ve spotted a pattern here!
