One of the best blog posts that I have ever read: I Can Tolerate Anything Except The Outgroup. Just RTWT (if you haven’t already).

Ok, that was pretty good, in fact:
Describes all of us in various circumstances.
I can think of times when I’m defending my team and I dig in, not wanting to give an inch to someone from another team, no matter how well they’ve made their point.
But my more important point: How come when I’m sitting in my reading chair; you know the one… over in the corner. It’s a recliner and has a nice table and lamp next to it. How come, dear family, when I have a kindle or book in my lap you leave me alone? Yet, when I’m working my way through a tl:dr post that is both sophisticated and long, you won’t hesitate to interrupt? Why is that?
You must think that I’m not reading anything serious and I’m just looking at crap like this and not reading serious and thoughtful pieces.
But you know what’s funny Sonic? I find that the article confirms what I think about the blue tribe. Especially the coastal blue tribe.
I think out here in flyover land we’re somewhat better (yeah, I’m complementing one of my in groups). We will be getting together over the fall for college football games (Texas/OU is this weekend), and getting along while many guests at any given party are from Team Blue and Team Red. We know the politics, but for the most part don’t care.
I should probably get my my own blog.
